The Juke/Footwork genre has been quietly gaining momentum in Budapest over the past 5 years, such local acts as AO UZZI, DJRen, Cadik, UFFALO STEEZ, 6T, BillyMatthews have been actively promoting and playing shows from underground clubs to summer festivals.
However, the BUDAPESTJUKE compilation is a milestone - not only is it a culmination of the finest local artist's finest works, but it has been an eye-opener for the group/community in the sense that the work with this album has brought all these Artists closer together, some have been lurking in the shadows of Soundcloud and Youtube, some have had no exposure whatsoever. This piece of work does not only materialize our local juke community but it also puts us on the map.
